Upload files to a request

Choose how to add the file

• Chat attachment: best for a small file you need to analyze once. Quick analysis accepts up to 15 MB per file, 50 MB combined, and 20 attachments in one request. If a request exceeds those limits or needs project processing, Pelayar can create a private project automatically.
• Project file: best for larger files, spreadsheets, media, collections of evidence, or anything you want to reuse across follow-up questions. Pelayar may create a project automatically when an attachment needs the project workflow.
• Dedicated video workflow: use Video Analysis or Sports Analysis when the video itself is the main subject and you need the strongest focused analysis.

Supported file types

• Documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, and PPTX
• Images: JPG, JPEG, and PNG
• Spreadsheets: XLS, XLSX, and CSV
• Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, and FLAC
• Video: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WEBM, FLV, WMV, 3GP, and 3GPP
• Online video: supported public YouTube links can be added without uploading the video file

Recommended video size

For the smoothest video processing, keep an uploaded video below approximately 1.9 GB when practical. This keeps the source just under the 2 GB processing boundary used by the video model and reduces the need for additional preparation or compression.

This is an optimal processing target, not the upload limit for every video workflow. Some Sports Analysis modes can accept larger source files and prepare them before analysis, while technique-focused analysis has a smaller limit. Always follow the size and duration limits shown in the selected workflow.

What Pelayar does after upload

• Documents and presentations: Office files are prepared for reading, and Pelayar creates a searchable summary that can be used as project evidence.
• Images: Pelayar analyzes the visible content so you can ask questions about the image alongside other project evidence.
• Spreadsheets: Pelayar extracts structured table content and prepares a summary. Add the spreadsheet to a project when you need comprehensive or repeated analysis.
• Audio: Pelayar transcribes the recording in the background so the spoken content can be searched, summarized, and compared.
• Video and YouTube: Pelayar prepares the video as project evidence in the background. You can ask for summaries and follow-up research, or open a dedicated video workflow for detailed event, technique, or sports analysis with timestamps.

For speaker diarization, use Transcription

Audio added directly to Chat or a project uses Pelayar's Standard transcription path. This is useful when you need the spoken content prepared quickly as searchable project evidence.

When the transcript itself is the main result, open the dedicated Transcription workflow. It provides the more powerful Advanced transcription option, speaker identification and diarization controls, timestamps, language and context settings, video transcription, and a Reviewed option when human verification is required.

Use the dedicated workflow for interviews, meetings, focus groups, podcasts, or other recordings where it matters who said what. Choose the quality level and speaker settings before starting the transcription.

Upload the file

1. Select the attachment button in the composer, choose Files from @, or open the upload control inside a project.
2. Choose the files you want Pelayar to use, or drag them into the upload area.
3. Confirm that each attachment or project file appears before sending the request.
4. Explain what Pelayar should do with each file. Name the file when several sources are present.
5. Send the request. Audio, video, large documents, and collections may continue processing in the background.
6. Wait until the project file shows that processing is complete before expecting it to be available as evidence.

If an upload fails

• Confirm that the extension is listed above and that the file is not empty or damaged.
• Use a project when the file exceeds the quick-attachment limits.
• For video, try MP4 when the original format is not recognized and keep the file below 1.9 GB when possible.
• Check that your account has enough project storage and credits for the requested processing.
• Remove the failed attachment, reload the page, and try the upload once more. If it still fails, contact support with the filename, size, format, and approximate upload time.
